Ashtavakra Gita 11.6

11.6 Ashtavakra to Janaka

nāhaṃ deho na me deho bodho'hamiti niścayī | kaivalyamiva saṃprāpto na smaratyakṛtaṃ kṛtam ||

One who is certain 'I am not the body, nor is the body mine; I am awareness' has, as it were, attained the state of absolute freedom, and no longer remembers what he has done or left undone.

Not a reason to neglect the body, health or treatment, or to dismiss one's responsibilities; the teaching is about identity, not self-neglect.

Meaning today and context

Knowing yourself as awareness rather than as a body or a record of deeds can free you from regret and from always measuring what you have or haven't done.

Ashtavakra describes the peace of one with firm understanding (niścayī): one certain 'I am not the body, nor is the body mine; I am awareness' attains as it were the state of aloneness, and no longer recalls what was done or left undone.
