durbodhabodhagahano na bhavāmi tāta durlakṣyalakṣyagahano na bhavāmi tāta | āsannarūpagahano na bhavāmi tāta jñānāmṛtaṃ samarasaṃ gaganopamo'ham ||
I am not a depth of knowing hard to grasp, dear one; I am not a hidden mark hard to perceive, dear one; I am not hidden even in what is near, dear one. I am the nectar of knowledge, the same throughout, like the sky.

We often imagine the Self as a far-off secret reached only after great effort. The verse says it is not hidden at all; it is the one who is looking.
Dattatreya tells a dear one (tata) that the Self is not some obscure depth, hard to know or hard to see; it is simply what he is.
