Avadhuta Gita 5.17

5.17 Dattatreya

iha sarvasamaṃ khalu jīva iti iha sarvanirantarajīva iti | iha kevalaniścalajīva iti kimu rodiṣi mānasi sarvasamam ||

Here, surely, the living being is the same as all; here the living being is unbroken everywhere; here the living being is alone and unmoving. Why do you weep, O mind? All is one and the same.

Meaning today and context

The self that feels small and separate is, at its depth, not small at all. Remembering that can quiet the feeling of being lost.

In chapter 5, Dattatreya speaks to his own mind with the refrain 'why do you weep?'; he says the living being (jiva) is the same as all, unbroken, alone and unmoving.
