Avadhuta Gita 5.23

5.23 Dattatreya

na hi bandhavibandhasamāgamanaṃ na hi yogaviyogasamāgamanam | na hi tarkavitarkasamāgamanaṃ kimu rodiṣi mānasi sarvasamam ||

There is no coming of bondage and release; no coming of union and separation; no coming of reasoning and argument. Why do you weep, O mind? All is one and the same.

Meaning today and context

Endless inner arguments, for and against, do not reach what is real. Sometimes the way out of a mental loop is to see that the loop itself is not you.

In chapter 5, Dattatreya speaks to his own mind with the refrain 'why do you weep?'; he says bondage and release, union and separation, argument and counter-argument never come together in reality.
