Avadhuta Gita 5.3

5.3 Dattatreya

adhaūrdhvavivarjitasarvasamaṃ bahirantaravarjitasarvasamam | yadi caikavivarjitasarvasamaṃ kimu rodiṣi mānasi sarvasamam ||

Free of below and above, the same in all; free of outside and inside, the same in all; if it is free even of 'one', the same in all, why do you weep, O mind? All is one and the same.

Meaning today and context

Reality is not located somewhere above us or deep inside us; it is not even 'one thing' to count. Nothing essential is missing that tears could recover.

In chapter 5, Dattatreya speaks to his own mind with the refrain 'why do you weep?'; he says the one reality has no below or above, outside or inside, and is beyond even the number one.
