ahamātmā guḍākeśa sarvabhūtāśayasthitaḥ | ahamādiśca madhyaṃ ca bhūtānāmanta eva ca ||

I am the Self, Gudakesha, dwelling in the heart of all beings. I am the beginning, the middle and the very end of beings.

Meaning today and context

Before any outward wonder, the sacred is found as the innermost Self of every being, including the person in front of you. Every life, from beginning to end, rests in it.

Krishna begins with his first and highest glory: he is the Self in the heart of every being, and the beginning, middle and end of all beings.
