Bhagavad Gita 14.12

14.12 Krishna to Arjuna

lobhaḥ pravṛttirārambhaḥ karmaṇāmaśamaḥ spṛhā | rajasyetāni jāyante vivṛddhe bharatarṣabha ||

Greed, activity, the undertaking of actions, restlessness and longing: these arise when rajas increases, best of the Bharatas.

These are signs of a passing state, not a verdict on anyone's character. Chronic restlessness or inability to stop can also need professional help.

Meaning today and context

Starting project after project, never feeling settled, always wanting more: these are signs of rajas taking over. Seeing them early lets you slow down before burnout.

Krishna lists the signs of rising rajas: greed, busy activity, the undertaking of actions, unrest and longing.
