Bhagavad Gita 14.22

14.22 Krishna to Arjuna

prakāśaṃ ca pravṛttiṃ ca mohameva ca pāṇḍava | na dveṣṭi saṃpravṛttāni na nivṛttāni kāṅkṣati ||

The Blessed Lord said: Light, activity and delusion, Pandava: such a one does not hate them when they arise, nor long for them when they have ceased.

Meaning today and context

Freedom is not never feeling dull or restless; it is not fighting these states when they come or clinging to good ones when they go. This is an inner test only you can apply, not a yardstick for judging others.

Krishna begins his answer: the one beyond the guṇas neither hates clarity, activity or delusion when they arise, nor longs for them when they cease.
