Bhagavad Gita 16.9

16.9 Krishna to Arjuna

etāṃ dṛṣṭimavaṣṭabhya naṣṭātmāno'lpabuddhayaḥ | prabhavantyugrakarmāṇaḥ kṣayāya jagato'hitāḥ ||

Holding this view, these lost souls of small understanding, of cruel deeds, rise up as enemies of the world, for its destruction.

Never to be used to brand any person or group as 'enemies of the world'.

Meaning today and context

Beliefs shape actions. A view that recognises nothing beyond one's own wants can end in cruelty and damage to many.

Krishna says that holding this view, people of small understanding commit cruel deeds and become enemies of the world.
