Bhagavad Gita 18.1

18.1 Arjuna to Krishna

saṃnyāsasya mahābāho tattvamicchāmi veditum | tyāgasya ca hṛṣīkeśa pṛthakkeśiniṣūdana ||

Arjuna said: Mighty-armed one, I wish to know the truth of renunciation, Hrishikesha, and of relinquishment, each separately, slayer of Keshi.

Meaning today and context

Arjuna's last question goes back to the doubt he began with: should I give things up, or keep acting? Many people still ask whether 'letting go' means leaving the world or changing how they live in it.

The final chapter opens with Arjuna asking Krishna to explain the true nature of sannyasa (renunciation) and of tyaga (relinquishment), and how they differ.
