Bhagavad Gita 18.21

18.21 Krishna to Arjuna

pṛthaktvena tu yajjñānaṃ nānābhāvānpṛthagvidhān | vetti sarveṣu bhūteṣu tajjñānaṃ viddhi rājasam ||

But that knowledge which, through separateness, sees in all beings various natures of different kinds, each apart, know that knowledge to be rajasic.

Meaning today and context

A mind that sees only differences, us and them, mine and theirs, keeps itself in competition and comparison. It is not wrong about the differences; it simply misses what connects people.

Krishna defines rajasic knowledge: knowledge that sees only separate, different natures in all beings.
