दूरेण ह्यवरं कर्म बुद्धियोगाद्धनंजय । बुद्धौ शरणमन्विच्छ कृपणाः फलहेतवः ॥
dūreṇa hyavaraṃ karma buddhiyogāddhanaṃjaya | buddhau śaraṇamanviccha kṛpaṇāḥ phalahetavaḥ ||
Action done for its results is far inferior to the yoga of understanding, Dhananjaya. Seek refuge in understanding; pitiable are those whose motive is the fruit.
हे धनंजय, फल की इच्छा से किया गया कर्म बुद्धियोग से बहुत निम्न है। तुम बुद्धि की शरण लो; फल के हेतु बनने वाले दीन (कृपण) हैं।
Earning a living is legitimate. The verse is about the inner motive, not about refusing fair pay.
जीविका कमाना पूरी तरह उचित है। यह श्लोक भीतरी प्रेरणा के बारे में है, उचित वेतन ठुकराने के बारे में नहीं।
