Meaning today and context

A simple start to meditation: let outer distractions be, rest the attention, and let the breath become even and calm. Quiet practice gives the mind a place to settle.

Krishna begins a brief description of meditation: shutting out outer contacts, fixing the gaze between the brows, and evening the in- and out-breath.
