Bhagavad Gita 6.35

6.35 Krishna to Arjuna

asaṃśayaṃ mahābāho mano durnigrahaṃ calam | abhyāsena tu kaunteya vairāgyeṇa ca gṛhyate ||

The Blessed Lord said: Without doubt, mighty-armed one, the mind is hard to restrain and restless; but by practice, son of Kunti, and by dispassion, it is held.

Meaning today and context

Krishna doesn't deny the difficulty. He gives two tools: steady, repeated practice, and gradually loosening your hunger for what keeps pulling you away. Together they work, slowly.

Krishna agrees the mind is hard to restrain, and gives the answer: practice and dispassion.
