7.29 Krishna to Arjuna

jarāmaraṇamokṣāya māmāśritya yatanti ye | te brahma tadviduḥ kṛtsnamadhyātmaṃ karma cākhilam ||

Those who, taking refuge in me, strive for freedom from old age and death, know that Brahman, the whole of the inner self, and all of action.

Meaning today and context

Fear of ageing and death can become a doorway rather than only a source of dread. Facing it with trust leads to understanding life as a whole.

Krishna says those who strive for freedom from old age and death, taking refuge in him, know Brahman, the inner self and all action.
