Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 4.4.19

4.4.19 Yajnavalkya to Janaka

manasaivānudraṣṭavyaṃ neha nānāsti kiṃ cana | mṛtyoḥ sa mṛtyumāpnoti ya iha nāneva paśyati ||

By the mind alone is this to be seen: there is no diversity here at all. From death to death goes the one who sees here as if there were diversity.

Seeing oneness is not denying real differences in people's needs or real harm; it is a way of seeing, not a reason to ignore injustice.

Meaning today and context

When we see only separate pieces, me against you, mine against theirs, life becomes a series of losses. Seeing the one underlying whole brings a different kind of peace.

Brihadaranyaka 4.4.19. A verse: there is no real multiplicity; one who sees only diversity goes from death to death.
