As from a fire laid with damp fuel separate clouds of smoke billow out, so indeed, my dear, the Rigveda, the Yajurveda, the Samaveda, the Atharvangirasa, histories, ancient lore, the sciences, the upanishads, verses, aphorisms, explanations and commentaries are the out-breathing of this great being. All these are breathed out by it alone.

All our words and knowledge, even sacred knowledge, come from something deeper than themselves. Respect learning, but don't mistake the books for the source they flow from.
Brihadaranyaka 2.4.10. Yajnavalkya tells Maitreyi that all scripture and learning pour out of the great being as effortlessly as breath, like smoke from a fire of damp wood.
