pītaḥ kruddhena tātaścaraṇatalahato vallabho yena roṣād | ābālyādvipravaryaiḥ svavadanavivare dhāryate vairiṇī me | gehaṃ me chedayanti pratidivasamumākāntapūjānimittaṃ | tasmātkhinnā sadāhaṃ dvijakulanilayaṃ nātha yuktaṃ tyajāmi ||

'My father (the ocean) was drunk up by one in anger; my beloved was struck with the sole of a foot by one in rage; from childhood the best of brahmins hold my rival (Sarasvatī) in their mouths; every day they cut down my home (the lotus) for the worship of Umā's lord. Therefore, grieved, I always leave the dwellings of brahmins, O Lord; it is fitting.'
