निर्गुणस्य हतं रूपं दुःशीलस्य हतं कुलम् । असिद्धस्य हता विद्या अभोगेन हतं धनम् ॥
nirguṇasya hataṃ rūpaṃ duḥśīlasya hataṃ kulam | asiddhasya hatā vidyā abhogena hataṃ dhanam ||
For one without virtue, beauty is wasted; for one of bad character, family is wasted; for one without mastery, learning is wasted; without use, wealth is wasted.
