Katha Upanishad 1.1.12

1.1.12 Nachiketa to Yama

svarge loke na bhayaṃ kiṃcanāsti na tatra tvaṃ na jarayā bibheti | ubhe tīrtvā aśanāyāpipāse śokātigo modate svargaloke ||

In the heavenly world there is no fear at all. You are not there, and no one fears old age. Having crossed beyond both hunger and thirst, and beyond sorrow, one rejoices in the world of heaven.

Meaning today and context

This is the old human longing for a life without fear, ageing and want. The Upanishad will soon ask whether even this is the deepest good.

Naciketas describes the heavenly world before asking his second boon: a place without fear, old age, hunger or thirst.
