Prashna Upanishad 2.3

2.3 Pippalada to Bhargava Vaidarbhi

tānvariṣṭaḥ prāṇa uvāca | mā mohamāpadyatha, ahamevaitatpañcadhātmānaṃ pravibhajyaitadbāṇamavaṣṭabhya vidhārayāmīti | te'śraddadhānā babhūvuḥ ||

Prāṇa, the greatest, said to them: "Do not fall into delusion. It is I who, dividing myself fivefold, hold up this body and support it." They did not believe him.

Meaning today and context

The quiet power that actually keeps things going is often the one nobody notices, and when it speaks up, people do not believe it. Things that work silently are easy to take for granted.

In Pippalāda's story, prāṇa, the greatest, speaks to the boasting senses; they do not believe it.
