atha hainaṃ kausalyaścāśvalāyanaḥ papraccha | bhagavankuta eṣa prāṇo jāyate | kathamāyātyasminśarīre | ātmānaṃ vā pravibhajya kathaṃ prātiṣṭhate | kenotkramate | kathaṃ bāhyamabhidhatte | kathamadhyātmamiti ||
Then Kausalya Āśvalāyana asked him: "Sir, from where is this prāṇa born? How does it come into this body? Having divided itself, how does it abide? By what does it depart? How does it support what is outside, and how what is within?"

Good questions keep going one layer deeper. Having heard that life sustains everything, the student asks where life itself comes from.
The third question. Kausalya Āśvalāyana goes deeper than the second: where does prāṇa itself come from, how does it enter and divide itself in the body, how does it leave, and how does it relate to the outer world and the inner self?
