yaccittastenaiṣa prāṇamāyāti | prāṇastejasā yuktaḥ sahātmanā yathā saṃkalpitaṃ lokaṃ nayati ||
"Whatever his thought is, with that he comes to prāṇa. Prāṇa, joined with heat (udāna), together with the self, leads him to the world as he has conceived it."
This verse is about what the Upanishad teaches of the Self and of dying, not an invitation to think about ending one's life. If you are grieving or having thoughts of death, please talk to someone now: Tele-MANAS 14416.
Meaning today and context
What we habitually think about shapes where we end up, in life as in death. Our inner direction matters; the mind we cultivate today is the mind we will carry.
Pippalāda: whatever a person's mind is set on at death, with that he enters prāṇa, which leads him to the world he has imagined.
