Prashna Upanishad 3.2

3.2 Pippalada to Kausalya Ashvalayana

tasmai sa hovāca | atipraśnānpṛcchasi | brahmiṣṭho'sīti | tasmātte'haṃ bravīmi ||

He said to him: "You are asking questions that go too far. But you are devoted to Brahman, so I will tell you."

Meaning today and context

A teacher judges not just the question but the sincerity behind it. Hard questions asked honestly, out of real seeking, deserve real answers.

Pippalāda tells Kausalya that his questions go beyond the usual, but because he is devoted to Brahman he will answer.
