"He created prāṇa; from prāṇa, faith, space, air, light, water, earth, the senses, mind and food; from food, strength, austerity, the sacred verses, action and the worlds; and in the worlds, name."

Meaning today and context

Right after life itself comes faith (śraddhā), before even the elements. Everything that makes up a human life, from food to work to one's name, unfolds from one source.

Pippalāda lists the sixteen parts the Person creates, beginning with prāṇa and faith and ending with name.
