"Just as these flowing rivers, heading for the ocean, disappear on reaching it, their names and forms broken, and it is called simply 'the ocean', so the sixteen parts of this seer, heading for the Person, disappear on reaching the Person, their names and forms broken, and it is called simply 'the Person'. He becomes partless and immortal. On this there is a verse:"
When someone is grieving, acknowledge the loss first; this image of rivers and the ocean is about the Self, and does not dismiss mourning. If you are in distress or thinking of death, call Tele-MANAS 14416.

Our roles, names and parts are like rivers: real while they flow, but all heading to one ocean. Seeing this can ease the fear of losing who we think we are; nothing of the water is lost, only the separate name.
Pippalāda's famous image: as rivers lose their names and forms in the ocean, the sixteen parts dissolve into the Person, who is then partless and immortal; a verse follows.
