Shvetashvatara Upanishad 3.15

3.15 Upanishadic seer

puruṣa evedaṃ sarvaṃ yadbhūtaṃ yacca bhavyam | utāmṛtatvasyeśāno yadannenātirohati ||

The Person is all this, whatever has been and whatever is to be. He is lord of immortality and of all that grows by food.

Meaning today and context

Past and future both rest in the same reality. Regret about what was and worry about what will be are held within something whole.

In the third chapter Shvetashvatara praises the one Lord, Rudra (Śiva), as ruler of the worlds. Continuing the Puruṣa hymn: the Person is all that was and will be, and lord of immortality.
