He understood that bliss is Brahman. For from bliss indeed these beings are born; by bliss, once born, they live; into bliss they go and enter when they depart. This is the knowledge of Bhṛgu and Varuṇa, established in the highest space. One who knows this becomes firmly established. He has food and enjoys food; he becomes great in children, cattle and the radiance of sacred knowledge; great in fame.

At the end of a long, patient search, Bhṛgu finds that the ground of everything is joy, and this time he needs no one to confirm it. Life comes from joy, lives by it and returns to it. Such knowing does not pull a person out of life; the text says it makes life full.

Taittiriya 3.6.1: Bhṛgu's final insight, that bliss is Brahman. He does not return to his father; the Upanishad names this 'the knowledge of Bhṛgu and Varuṇa' and states its fruits.
