Receiving his power from you, the Person (Purusha) of unfailing strength holds within him, together with her (māyā), the vast seed of this world as a womb holds a child. Accompanied by her, he brought forth from himself the golden egg of the universe, wrapped in its outer coverings.

In the Bhagavata's picture of creation, every power at work in the universe is borrowed from one source. Nothing, not even the creator, acts on its own strength alone.
The gods describe creation: the cosmic Person receives his power from Krishna and, with māyā, brings forth the golden cosmic egg with its outer sheaths.
