Uddhava Gita 10.1

10.1 Krishna to Uddhava

jitendriyasya yuktasya jitaśvāsasya yoginaḥ | mayi dhārayataśceta upatiṣṭhanti siddhayaḥ ||

When a yogi has conquered the senses, is steadied in discipline, has mastered the breath and holds the mind fixed on me, the powers (siddhis) come and wait upon him.

This verse states what the Bhāgavata claims about yogic powers (siddhis); it is not a feat to attempt or test, and it proves nothing about anyone. Be wary of anyone who sells, demonstrates or promises such powers, or asks for money or obedience in return. Krishna himself calls these powers obstacles that waste the seeker's time (UG.10.33).

Meaning today and context

The point is the discipline and the steady mind, not the powers. Whatever 'results' come from inner practice, the chapter will soon say they are side effects, not the goal.

Bhāgavata 11.15 opens: Krishna tells Uddhava that yogic powers (siddhis) come to the disciplined yogi whose mind is fixed on him.
