Uddhava Gita 10.14

10.14 Krishna to Uddhava

mahatyātmani yaḥ sūtre dhārayenmayi mānasam | prākāmyaṃ pārameṣṭhyaṃ me vindate'vyaktajanmanaḥ ||

Whoever holds the mind on me as the great self, the thread (sūtra) that runs through all, gains from me, whose birth is unmanifest, prākāmya, the highest excellence.

This verse states what the Bhāgavata claims about yogic powers (siddhis); it is not a feat to attempt or test, and it proves nothing about anyone. Be wary of anyone who sells, demonstrates or promises such powers, or asks for money or obedience in return. Krishna himself calls these powers obstacles that waste the seeker's time (UG.10.33).

Meaning today and context

This is part of the text's catalogue of yogic powers, not something anyone can do or demonstrate. What it shows is how the Bhāgavata ranks such powers: below devotion, and as a distraction from it.

Krishna gives the concentration for prākāmya (fulfilment of every wish).
