Uddhava Gita 10.17

10.17 Krishna to Uddhava

nirguṇe brahmaṇi mayi dhārayanviśadaṃ manaḥ | paramānandamāpnoti yatra kāmo'vasīyate ||

Holding a clear mind on me as Brahman beyond the guṇas, one attains the highest bliss, in which desire comes to rest.

Meaning today and context

Here the 'power' of getting whatever one wants turns into something else: a joy in which wanting itself stops. The deepest fulfilment is not more getting, but the end of the ache to get.

Krishna gives the concentration for the eighth principal power: fixing the mind on him as Brahman beyond the guṇas brings supreme bliss, where desire ends.
