Uddhava Gita 10.20

10.20 Krishna to Uddhava

cakṣustvaṣṭari saṃyojya tvaṣṭāramapi cakṣuṣi | māṃ tatra manasā dhyāyanviśvaṃ paśyati dūrataḥ ||

Joining the eye to the sun, and the sun to the eye, and meditating on me there with the mind, one sees the whole world from afar.

This verse states what the Bhāgavata claims about yogic powers (siddhis); it is not a feat to attempt or test, and it proves nothing about anyone. Be wary of anyone who sells, demonstrates or promises such powers, or asks for money or obedience in return. Krishna himself calls these powers obstacles that waste the seeker's time (UG.10.33). Never look at the sun as a practice; it damages the eyes.

Meaning today and context

This is part of the text's catalogue of yogic powers, not something anyone can do or demonstrate. What it shows is how the Bhāgavata ranks such powers: below devotion, and as a distraction from it.

Krishna gives the concentration for seeing at a distance.
