Uddhava Gita 10.32

10.32 Krishna to Uddhava

jitendriyasya dāntasya jitaśvāsātmano muneḥ | maddhāraṇāṃ dhārayataḥ kā sā siddhiḥ sudurlabhā ||

For a sage who has conquered the senses, who is self-controlled, who has mastered breath and mind and holds his concentration on me, what power is there that is hard to gain?

This verse states what the Bhāgavata claims about yogic powers (siddhis); it is not a feat to attempt or test, and it proves nothing about anyone. Be wary of anyone who sells, demonstrates or promises such powers, or asks for money or obedience in return. Krishna himself calls these powers obstacles that waste the seeker's time (UG.10.33).

Meaning today and context

Self-mastery is the real achievement; what follows from it is secondary. A steady, disciplined mind makes much possible, but the next verse warns against chasing what it makes possible.

Krishna says that for the disciplined sage whose concentration rests on him, no power is hard to gain; the next verse says why that does not matter.
