Meaning today and context

Kapila, the teacher of Sāṅkhya, is named first: clear understanding is itself counted among God's glories.

Krishna lists his vibhūtis (manifestations of glory) to Uddhava (Bhāgavata 11.16), a list close to Gita chapter 10. Among perfected masters Kapila, among birds Garuḍa, among progenitors Dakṣa, among ancestors Aryamā.
