Uddhava Gita 11.34

11.34 Krishna to Uddhava

apāṃ rasaśca paramastejiṣṭhānāṃ vibhāvasuḥ | prabhā sūryendutārāṇāṃ śabdo'haṃ nabhasaḥ paraḥ ||

Of water I am the excellent taste; of the most brilliant, fire; I am the radiance of sun, moon and stars; of the sky, its supreme quality, sound.

Meaning today and context

Every sip of water and every glance at the sky can become a moment of remembering. The verse invites seeing the sacred in the simplest senses.

Krishna lists his vibhūtis (manifestations of glory) to Uddhava (Bhāgavata 11.16), a list close to Gita chapter 10. He is the taste of water, fire among the brilliant, the light of sun, moon and stars, and sound in space.
