11.36 Krishna to Uddhava

gatyuktyutsargopādānamānandasparśalakṣaṇam | āsvādaśrutyavaghrāṇamahaṃ sarvendriyendriyam ||

Moving, speaking, excreting, grasping, joy, touch, sight, taste, hearing and smelling: I am the power of sense in all the senses.

Meaning today and context

Our ordinary abilities, walking, speaking, seeing, are not small things; each is named as a gift of the divine. That can change how we treat our own body and its powers.

Krishna lists his vibhūtis (manifestations of glory) to Uddhava (Bhāgavata 11.16), a list close to Gita chapter 10. He is the power behind every sense and organ of action: moving, speaking, excreting, grasping, pleasure, touch, sight, taste, hearing and smell.
