Uddhava Gita 12.18

12.18 Krishna to Uddhava

āstikyaṃ dānaniṣṭhā ca adambho brahmasevanam | atuṣṭirarthopacayairvaiśyaprakṛtayastvimāḥ ||

Faith, steady giving, freedom from hypocrisy, service to brahmins, and never being satisfied with accumulating wealth: these are the qualities of the vaishya's nature.

Varna here means one's role and inclination, as this text itself says (conduct marks the varna, UG.12.13); it must never be read as birth-based caste or used to rank, exclude or demean anyone. Not financial advice.
