Uddhava Gita 13.35

13.35 Krishna to Uddhava

yadṛcchayopapannānnamadyācchreṣṭhamutāparam | tathā vāsastathā śayyāṃ prāptaṃ prāptaṃ bhajenmuniḥ ||

Whatever food comes by itself he should eat, fine or poor; so too with clothing and bed, the sage should accept whatever comes.

Meaning today and context

Not insisting on the best of everything takes away a great deal of daily irritation. Accepting what comes, fine or plain, is a quiet form of freedom.

Krishna, teaching Uddhava the duties of the āśramas (Bhāgavata 11.18), teaches contentment with whatever comes.
