Uddhava Gita 15.23

15.23 Krishna to Uddhava

nirviṇṇasya viraktasya puruṣasyoktavedinaḥ | manastyajati daurātmyaṃ cintitasyānucintayā ||

For a person who is weary of the world, dispassionate, and who has understood what was taught, the mind gives up its wickedness through dwelling again and again on what he has contemplated.

Meaning today and context

The mind's bad habits don't vanish in one go. Returning again and again to what you have understood slowly changes how the mind behaves.

Krishna says that for one who is weary of the world, dispassionate, and has understood the teaching, repeated reflection makes the mind give up its wayward nature.
