Meaning today and context

Knowing a habit hurts you and still not being able to drop it is a very human place to be. The text does not condemn this person; it offers a way forward in the next verse.

Krishna describes a seeker who has faith in his stories and is tired of worldly pursuits, who knows desires bring sorrow but cannot yet give them up.
