Uddhava Gita 17.55

17.55 Krishna to Uddhava

yathā manorathadhiyo viṣayānubhavo mṛṣā | svapnadṛṣṭāśca dāśārha tathā saṃsāra ātmanaḥ ||

As the experience of objects in a daydreaming mind is unreal, and as are things seen in a dream, O Dāśārha, so is the Self's saṃsāra.

Seeing the world as dreamlike is about one's inner hold on experiences, not a reason to neglect family, work, health or treatment.

Meaning today and context

Much of our suffering happens in imagined scenes of what might happen or what others think. Seeing their dreamlike nature loosens their hold.

Krishna completes the similes for Uddhava (Bhagavata 11.22.55): the Self's saṃsāra is like a daydream or a dream.
