Uddhava Gita 2.32

2.32 Avadhuta to Yadu

santi me guravo rājanbahavo buddhyupaśritāḥ | yato buddhimupādāya mukto'ṭāmīha tānśṛṇu ||

I have many teachers, O king, whom my understanding has taken as refuge. Gaining wisdom from them, I wander here free. Hear about them.

Meaning today and context

Wisdom does not come from one source only. Anyone willing to observe can learn from nature, from animals, from ordinary people and from life's events.

The Avadhūta tells Yadu that he has many teachers, chosen by his own understanding, and that what he learned from them has made him free.
