Uddhava Gita 23.36

23.36 Krishna to Uddhava

etāvānātmasammoho yadvikalpastu kevale | ātmanṛte svamātmānamavalambo na yasya hi ||

This much is self-delusion: imagining divisions in what is single and whole; for that delusion has no support other than the Self itself.

Much inner conflict comes from splitting ourselves and others into opposing pieces. Even the confusion rests on the same awareness it misreads.

Krishna to Uddhava (Bhagavata 11.28.36): self-delusion is imagining divisions in the one Self.
