Uddhava Gita 24.20

24.20 Krishna to Uddhava

na hyaṅgopakrame dhvaṃso maddharmasyoddhavāṇvapi | mayā vyavasitaḥ samyaṅnirguṇatvādanāśiṣaḥ ||

Once begun, my dharma suffers not even the slightest loss, dear Uddhava, for I have firmly established it as beyond the guṇas, since it seeks no reward.

Meaning today and context

Effort made sincerely toward the good is never wasted, even if we stumble or stop for a while. You can begin again from where you are.

Krishna to Uddhava (Bhagavata 11.29.20) assures that this devotion, once begun, is never lost.
