Uddhava Gita 6.12

6.12 Krishna to Uddhava

prakṛtistho'pyasaṃsakto yathā khaṃ savitānilaḥ | vaiśāradyekṣayāsaṅga śitayā chinnasaṃśayaḥ | pratibuddha iva svapnānnānātvādvinivartate ||

Though placed in nature, he is unattached, like the sky, the sun and the wind. With clear vision sharpened by non-attachment, his doubts cut away, he turns back from multiplicity like one awakened from a dream.

Meaning today and context

Like the sky, which holds clouds and storms without being stained, you can let experiences pass through you. Non-attachment sharpens judgement rather than dulling it.

Bhāgavata 11.11.12–13 (merged in this e-text). The wise one lives in the world of nature yet stays unattached, like the sky, the sun and the wind, and turns away from the sense of multiplicity as from a dream.
