6.23 Krishna to Uddhava

śraddhālurmatkathāḥ śṛṇvansubhadrā lokapāvanīḥ | gāyannanusmarankarma janma cābhinayanmuhuḥ ||

Full of faith, listening to my blessed stories that purify the world, singing them, remembering, and acting out my deeds and births again and again,

Meaning today and context

Hearing, singing and retelling sacred stories keeps them alive in us. Faith often grows through such simple, repeated acts.

Bhāgavata 11.11.23, continued in the next verse. Krishna describes the devotee who listens to, sings and remembers his stories.
