Upadeshasahasri 14.38

14.38 Shankaracharya

amanaskasya kā cintā kriyā vānindriyasya kā | aprāṇo hyamanāḥ śubhra iti satyaṃ śrutervacaḥ ||

What worry can there be for one without a mind, what action for one without organs? 'Without breath, without mind, pure': this word of scripture is true.

Meaning today and context

Worry needs a mind to happen in. Knowing that you are the awareness behind the mind, not the mind itself, does not stop thoughts but changes how much they own you.

Shankaracharya, in the fourteenth chapter of the Upadeshasahasri (on dream and memory), supports the argument with a scriptural phrase (Muṇḍaka Upanishad 2.1.2).
