Upadeshasahasri 14.43

14.43 Shankaracharya

ahaṃkriyādyā hi samastavikriyā sakartṛkā karmaphalena saṃhitā | citisvarūpeṇa samantato'rkavatprakāśyamānāsitatātmano hyataḥ ||

All changes, beginning with the 'I'-making, together with their agent and joined with action and its fruit, are illumined on every side by [the Self] whose nature is consciousness, like the sun; therefore [they belong as objects] to the unbound Self.

Meaning today and context

The doer in you, with its plans, efforts and results, is itself lit up by awareness, as the sun lights a field. The light is not caught in what it shows.

Shankaracharya, in the fourteenth chapter of the Upadeshasahasri (on dream and memory), continues the argument: all mental change, with its doer, deeds and results, is lit by consciousness like the sun.
