15.15 Shankaracharya

khamivaikarasā jñaptiravibhaktājarāmalā | cakṣurādyupadhānātsā viparītā vibhāvyate ||

Consciousness, like space, is of one uniform nature, undivided, unaging and stainless; through the limiting adjuncts, the eye and the rest, it is imagined to be the opposite.

Meaning today and context

Awareness itself does not age, break or get dirty; it only seems split into seeing, hearing and thinking. Under all the changes, something in you stays whole.

Shankaracharya describes pure consciousness and how it seems divided only because of the sense organs through which it shines.
